    You might be thinking of Ginsu Knives. If you go to your favorite Search Engine and type in "As Seen on TV" it'll bring up a whole lot of sites of places that sell these products you see the ads for on TV. You can order them from any of these sites. You'll be able to tell from the way they present themselves which ones are probably better to deal with.
