Zoology pronunciation?
Does everyone know that there is no "zoo" in zoology? It is pronounced zoh-AHL-uh-jee.
Do you correct people who mispronounce words like this?

In zoology and entomology, there are so many different names, and often we only see them in print.
There's been several instances I've found where the zoologists who trained at one university will pronounce the name of a critter totally different from how the people from another university pronounce it.
Because of this, most zoologists aren't too hung up on pronunciations. We're more sticklers for spelling.
Myself, I enjoy speaking even normal, everyday words with the emPHASis on the wrong sylLABle. But then, I have it on fairly good authority that I'm weird.

In Modern American English there are two equally correct pronunciations: zoo (rhymes with zoo) - ah - luh - gee zoh (rhymes with toe) - ah - luh -gee Both are accepted in American English by native speakers as correct and acceptable. There are also two ways to stress the word in American English and both are considered acceptable: ZOO - ah - luh - gee ZOH - ah - luh - gee zoo - AH - luh - gee zoh - AH - luh - gee There is some regionalism involved, but you can hear all four pronunciations (sometimes from the same speaker) in all parts of the country. ALL are considered correct by American speakers. LATER EDIT: Remember that there is no such thing in the United States as an "official pronunciation". There are only variants that are acceptable to native speakers and those that are not. And "acceptable" means different things in different parts of the country.

Not really, but that's maybe because I live in a household full of broken english speakers.
The only times that I actually do that is if they are obviously american with no accent, other people at least have an excuse!

No. Pronunciation is living, not fixed, and you say "toh-MAY-toh," I say "toh-MAH-toh;" you say "speeshees" I say "speesees." It's not like they're rearranging letters, which would be wrong, like "nukyuler" for "nuclear."
So no, I don't correct people who pronounce zoology, or Polystichum, or murrelet, differently than I do. Because there is what's preferred, but not really what's proper.
