Best January vacation spot in the US?

We live in Texas and want to take a 4 or 5 day trip somewhere outside of TX right after New Years. Do you have any suggestions? We don't want to go anywhere where it will be snowing the whole time. Somewhere where we could actually do some sightseeing and have decent temperatures. I know Hawaii would be the best place but I don't think we can afford that. Thanks!

    I would go to San Diego, CA.....

    I live a few hundred miles up and I've been there twice during winter.......

    It's also quite affordable

    South Florida of course, but just about anywhere in the Southwest. Tucson, Las Vegas, L.A., Laughlin, San Diego.

    MIAMI! Where else would you go in January. Weather is amazing. The city is great, lots of people, its a great place to visit.

    Other places I would suggest.

    San Jaun Puerto Rico (it is the US)

    St. Thomas US Virgin Islands.
