kidney cancer?

Does anyone who has had surgery for cancer ever have a problem with their kidney shutting down ? My Nephrologist is aware of the problem but she hasn't adressed it yet. I generally happens if I'm away from the house, and it takes several days to lose the fluid I gain at these times. I do drink water, but I some times wonder if it's just adding to the problem. I am also dealing with diabetes. Blood pressure seems to be fine but have to take several meds.

Update:

I've been trying to get the diabete fasting numbers down by diet, have lost 16 lbs and blood pressure is generally around 106/65 which I consider low. fasting averages around 140, not the greatest, but I'm working on it, Dr. App. yesterday, and my primary was trying to get ahold of my Nephrologist , but she seems to be on vacation. So I may get a call Monday. if it doesn't get for gotten.

there is a lot of unhappiness going on in the family and somedays I' just seem to fall apart. But I try to stay strong, sometimes even that weares you out,

Hey - I am recovering from kidney cancer - had surgery just over a month ago - only a partial removal, but all is working fine. Maybe the diabetes is having more of an impact - what I found was lack of information - just lots of "do everything in moderation"......hmmmmm........yep, i too drink lots of water, but havent had the issues of retaining fluid. Push push push for answers kiddo - you have the right to get this information - it IS all about you. How are you anyway?
