Most blimps are operated under part 91 and owned by corporations and used for advertising such as Goodyear, See’s candy, and MET Life to name a few. They do not and cannot charge for rides on their blimps.

What they do is give out free rides to selected customers. If you are at an airport and happen to see a blimp tied to the tethering post go and talk with the person in charge. Request a tour and explain you would like t to take a ride if possible. In some cases they will take you up for a ride with them, but its all up to the pilot and company procedures. All they can tell you is no.

Different companies will have different prices. I heard 1 british company was charging about 400 pounds for a short ride. Most blimps are used to promote advertising and feel that blimp rides to the public wont make enough money so your chances of getting on a blimp is rare unless you know someone or have a whole truck load of money to burn.

I did ride in one for free in 77 at a promontional flight for a SUPER BULL ( a rodeo) in Texas. Now referred to George Paul Memorial Bull Riding My folks had connections.

The everday blimp I really do not know fee structure, but I wonder if they even carry passangers at all for hire. I am talking about those that do sporting events. Goodyear blimp was the aircraft, but go to www.goodyearblimp.com
