What can I do to prevent a musty smell in my washing machine?

I try to keep the door open after using it, however, it still seems to smell and I feel that this smell is now transferring to my clothing, too. Is there something I can run through the washer (it's a Tromm Front Loader) to help allieviate this?

Add a cup of distilled or white vinegar to your next laundry load. It will remove the odor and won't harm the fabrics. If you are worried about staining anyway, then run a cycle through with just the vinegar water in it. Good luck.

a musky smell comes from water or wet clothes setting there till you hsve time to put then in a dryer, to get rid of the snell wash you washing machime, fill it up with the hottest of water for a small load, pour clorox in the water let it go completly thru the washing and rinse cycle an wash out all the lines going thru the machine, if it still accures I would have my water checked

Have you checked the hose to make sure it is not clogged? If it is not I would just run a wash with out clothes in it with some strong bleach water once a week.
