There is one other difference. The Moviemate 30 will double the throw distance (from pj to screen) and picture size. The 25 will show a max 150" picture while the 30 will show up to 300", so with the 30 you can have a bigger picture without losing brightness and sharpness.

I'd probably stick with the 25 and save my money for a native 780p projector. That would be more of an upgrade than a 25 to a 30.

Besides the 25 being discontinued and 30 being current, the main difference is the connectivity. Brightness, contrast ratio and resolution are all the same.

If you compare the inputs, you will find that the 30 supports component and VGA and resolutions up to 1080p. The 25 only supports composite and s-video, which means you are only going to get 480i.

The 30 is an HD compatible projector, where the 25 is not HD compatible. Both projectors are 480p projectors.

A recent check for relevant reviews at ProjectorCentral.com on the Moviemate 25 and 30 did not reveal much in the way of an actual current reviews. There were any number of user comments which did not prove very helpful.

However, the price of the 30 is somewhat lower, around $1,000 as compared to the $1,400 price tag for the 25.

Again, we leave you to decide whether or not you want to upgrade to the 30.

    Good luck!
