Because all 3 of my girls are under the age of 6 months they get unlimited Alfalfa hay (Kleenmamas Hayloft) and unlimited Alfalfa based pellets (Oxbows, cavy performance). In about 2 months I will be changing to Timothy hay and Timothy based pellets.

At the moment I am feeding my youngest girl a vitamin c chewable tablet to supplement the high vitamin c vegetables that I am giving her because there is a gap between her teeth. Scurvy usually starts in the gums and effects the teeth.

In terms of vegetables they get:

    Bok Choy

Baby carrot (1 per guinea pig)

    Red capsicum/bell peppers

    Parsley

    Celery

    Cucumber

    Red Curly leaf lettuce

    Baby spinach

There is more foods that you can give them that is just what I give my guinea pigs. At the moment (because there is three) I am feeding them about 1 and a half cups of fresh produce. Occasionally they get:

    Apple slice

    Banana slice

    Mango slice

I don't currently have any guinea pigs but I would give them Alfalfa pellets when they are young, growing, or pregnant. After a year old, they can eat Timothy Pellets. Make sure whatever pellets you feed, they are not in a seed mix. Seeds are actually a choking hazard to guinea pigs.

Guinea pigs need hay. Alfalfa hay is good for young guinea pigs, growing ones, and pregnant ones. After a year old or so, they can have Timothy hay.

Guinea pigs should have one cup of vegetables daily.

Mine got a good commercial 'guinea pig food' plus lots of lettuce and carrots, the occasional 'cut apple pieces, bites of banana ... and some nice 'sticks' to chew on.

It's been 26 years since I had a guinea pig ... but I'm sure they still eat 'the same stuff.'

My pigs daily diet (twice a day):

-Romaine lettuce, green leaf lettuce, endive or red leaf lettuce

    -handful of parsley or cilantro

-1 baby carrot per pig a day

-slice of red or green bell pepper

Occasional treats: cucumber, kiwi, apple, cherry tomatoes

My boys have gas problems with broccoli and spinach, but some pigs do just fine with them.

There are lots more veggies that are ok, but this is our normal list.

Do not feed iceburg lettuce, potatoes, onions, or too many fruits. Fruits are high in water and sugar. Occasional fruit treats are fine, but not too many

I feed my guinea pigs romaine lettuce, celery, carrots, apples, oranges and Hartz Bonanza Guinea Pig Gourmet Diet. I also give them Timothy Hay. They also can eat "junk food" which is pretzels and Nilla Wafers (they shouldn't get those very often).

I feed mine Guinea pig pellets, Carrots, Bell Peppers, Bananas, apples, and hay. They have to have veggies for vitamin C.

Heres a good website on what to and not to feed them: http://cooleyscritters.freeservers.com/photo4.html

    Hope that helps!

We give them lettuce, parsley, carrots, and other veggies without water. You could give him/her that or guinea pig food (dry) and water. You should have two, if you have one now. They are social animals and will be happy with a guinea AND human friend by him/her.

They love celery and carrots, raisins, almost any kind of greens - especially spinach. Pet stores have all these little treats and puffs but some piggies are picky. I say anything grown in the ground is better anyway.

Guinea pig food from the pet store and carrots, lettuce but so celery because it could chock...
