Will Notre Dame be as bad as haters say they will be because they lost their star players?

Mostly penn state fans talking smack to me because i like notre dame. I live in pennsylvania so there alot of penn state fans so i got alot of crap talk last year and look what happened then. Since the day they killed penn state i keep hearing "wait till next year." Well, its next year, and im wondering what you think they will be like. Will they be nothing without Quinn and company?

Well if by haters you mean Mark May who said ND will win 1 of its first 8, then no, the Irish should certainly be a little better than that. The similarities between this upcoming season and 2005 are remarkable (except for the conspicuous absence of a proven, consistent starter at QB): opener vs. top 25 opponent, pundits predicting 0-6 starts, I say it's a better starting block than last year: lower expectations lead to more pleasant surprises.

No. They will likely have a signifigant dropoff at the skill position, and will probably only eke out 6-7 wins, but they wont be a 2 win team.

There is some intrigueing talent, and the question is how quickly can Weis bring it out. And hopefully the O-line will be upgraded enough to help.

Got tired of the Haters bashing Quinns accuracy, when he ussually only had 3 seconds tops to throw. Lots of those other "great " QBs did not look so hot once they had pressure in their grill either. Anyone remember Troy "mr. Heisman" Smith against Florida? ( And dont get me wrong, I actually like Smith, but you could see how crucial your Oline is then)

The upside is you have a few leaders returning with Carlson and Zib, who are each probably top 10 in the nation in their respective positions. Oh. and lets not forget that coach guy.......you know the one who used an untried, unproven 6th round QB from michigan to win the SuperBowl, and then do it 2 more times?

No. They will be nothing this year. Just like last year. They where nothing with Quinn. He was just an overrated QB. When Notre Dame finallly played someone good (ie. USC and esp. LSU) they got the crapped beat outta them.

That's why Quinn was drafted so low, the LSU game showed how bad he really was and Notre Dame as a team.

Quinn suffered that same fate as Troy Smith. They played a great team and got spanked. Darren McFadden should have won the Heisman and will this year.

It does not look good for the Irish. They lost a lot of starters and do not have much in the way of experience. I would say wait until next year. This is a 6 to 7 win team. Don't count out that crazy luck of the Irish though.

I think the Irish is gonna be worst than the haters are saying, maybe 2-6 in their first 8 games, those haters don't know what they're talking about, giving ND to much credit, just not hatting them enough. I for one is not one of the hatter people, I'm just a realist about their team this year, and their schedule is brutal with loss all over the place and especially a new QB too wow. Irish fans not gonna be happy with their team this year, not lucky Irish at all, but rather LUCKY TO BE A USC fans this year, love to see Irish fans suffer their worst ever to date. Oh FIGHT ON!

They werent really that good to begin with. Cant get much worse, then again, they did drop Army from their schedule so there is one less win for them but threw Duke on there for a real test. I see them at 6-5 maybe 7-5.

They have had 3 straight top 10 recruiting years so I doubt it. I don't have the source for you on that but I am sure you can find it if you google it.

I thought they were WAY overrated last season....so yeah..they could be as bad as some people think.

But...they could start the season 0-6 and media types like ESPN would still be hyping them for a New Years Day Bowl game.

This is a rebuilding year for Weis and the season for numerous opponents to give payback.
