Political views are a sub-set of social views.

Socialization is the process by which we are transformed from babies who can only say "go-go-ga-ga" to functioning members of society. Therefore "social views" covers everything from the religion (or lack thereof) in which we were raised, our family values, our ethnic heritage, our political tendencies, our national identity, our friendships and views on relationships, our opinions on popular culture, and our conformity or non-conformity to norms and mores (including but not limited to lifestyle, education, career, fashion).

Politics are just one part of the larger societal culture. So in that way, I suppose I would say our social views impact one's life more, because they govern not only our thoughts on politics but our behavior in our lives. For instance, politically you may be against abortion, but that doesn't necessarily mean that in a social setting you shun your friend who happened to get an abortion. Your political view on gun control may be that no one should have a gun, but you still talk to your Uncle Earl who lives out in the country and hunts ducks with his shotgun.

Your political identity and your social reality are sometimes different. It's easy to speak and believe in political ideals, but in our everyday lives we rarely live up to them. Perhaps this is because in politics, many things are starkly black or white, but culturally there are various shades of gray to any ideal.

Personally I think my social views impact my life more. I grew up in the ghetto in and around the east side of Columbus, OH. It's not like Brooklyn or East L.A., but it's still rough. I think because of that I have been geared to think of the world through the eyes of myself and my loved ones, rather than the eyes of our "leaders." My political views personally don't seem to matter. Yeah, I can protest and fight and campaign to try to make things change, but ultimately my idea has to be the same as those in charge for there to be any result. So why should I consume myself with stress, work, and extra time spent towards an idea that I have to trust others to lead for me? I guess I just value the lives of everyone I come in contact with. I can directly influence the individuals I meet. So if I continually focus on my social views and sharing them with others, in fact I will be spreading my political views, which will be more of an inpact on society then campaigning for an idea.

So I guess my answer is this: Social views are what shape me and what drives me. Through them I hope to guide people in my political views, but the basis is with the social views. Without my social views I would not be able to communicate properly to those I wish to spread my political views.

My social views and political views are of the same and equal value to me. The body politic is after all about society, there is no difference in my opinion. Both terms ultimately refer to People.

People are the most important component of life, their well being and welfare are always of concern. This is the main reason I support the Worldwide United Foundation which seeks to end poverty and inequality throughout the earth. I believe it can be done if people would take an interest in all other people. Treat all others the way you would like to be treated is the best social / political view to live by.

A signature is all the foundation requests for support.

Many of our social views are intertwined with our political views. That's why we have liberals and conservatives.

Look at social services, abortion issues, church verses state.

You come to a place in your life when you realize that the fine line is now blurred between the two issues.
