Does the constitution allow for freedom to segregate?
Does the U.S. constitution protect peoples right to separate or segregate themselves from people based on cultural and or racial differences? Please explain why or why not. I am just interested in what peoples response to this question will be.
3 AnswersOther - Cultures & Groups1 decade agoAre different cultures in America really trying to blend together?
I am asking this question because I consider myself an American, eventhough I am of multiculteral decent. I see and hear Blacks refering to themselves as African-Americans, Polish refering to themselves as Polish-Americans, Mexicans refering to themselves as Mexican-Americans, etc. Is this truely how we see ourselves, or is this the way that certain groups perpetuate the racism that seems to be growing at an alarming rate in this country. As I see it, if we continue to segregate ourselves culturaly we will never acheive the racial harmony we all claim we want. Whats your oppinion?
10 AnswersEtiquette1 decade agoShould more restrictions be placed on welfare recipients?
Welfare has existed for many years, however it has not been so widely used as it is today. My mother recieved welfare for three months while in between jobs. However there are many who, not only live on welfare, but conceive and give birth multiple times while on welfare. I see nothing wrong with giving someone a HAND UP, when they are having trouble. I do have a problem with giving a HAND OUT, to people who simply abuse a system created to help those in need. Especialy when it is at taxpayers expence. What if any restrictions should be placed on welfare, what would be the long term and short term impact, not only economicaly, but socialy as well. If harsher restrictions were implimented would it increase or decrease crime, and would it overflow the job market with unskilled labor. Also, those whom recieve an education through welfare, should they be made to pay back the cost of said education? Very interested to see the responces.
3 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoHave you ever made a racist statement.?
We have all had the "slip of the tongue" moment in our lives, i am just wondering how many have had it happen with a racial slur. If it has, do you think maybe you are holding back some racist feelings or was it due to something else. Just wondering.

3 AnswersCorporations1 decade agoShould illegal aliens have citizen benefits?
Do you feel poeple who come to the United States illegaly, should enjoy the same bennefits we do, even though they show great disrespect to us by not obeying our immigration laws? Also should companies who employ them be treated as criminals themselves?
1 AnswerImmigration1 decade agoIs the REAL ID the real solution?
Is the soon to be implimented REAL ID anything more than a way for the government to have more control over the population? Why was it secretly attached to a military spending bill in order to be signed into law? Does thi keep terrorists out, or give the government more targets for persecution?
3 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoIs affirmative action still needed in todays society?
Do we need the affirmative action legislation to remain in effect, Or has the time for racialy motivated legislation passed? There is a special interest group for every posible situation in this country, do we really need to impose laws onto the private sector in order to provide equality? If so is it truely a state of equality or mearly fear of prosicution?
