There is, indeed, only one God, and He sent His Son, Jesus, to save us from our sins. Jesus established one Church, in Which He invested all authority in Heaven and on earth (Matthew 16: 13-19; Matthew 28:18-20).
Some Christians have wanted to retain the prestige of being Christians, without submitting to the authority of the Church that Jesus established. Some went so far as to break with the Church and to establish their own Christian communities, in spite of the fact that Jesus promised to be with the Church for all time. Martin Luther and King Henry VIII of England are the two most notorious examples. Thus, John Henry Newman once wrote: "To be deep in history is to cease to be Protestant."
Yes, all Christians should be united in worship and in belief. That's what Jesus intended. The answer to your question is found in history.
The real question is this: Shouldn't all Christians do their level best to understand what, exactly, Jesus wants us to do?

I would not worship a noun like forgiveness. In fact, my favorite quote of all time is the following from Edmund Burke: "There is, however, a limit at which forebearance ceases to be a virtue."
If you are looking for simple rules of behavior, however, you might try the Three T's:
~ Try your best.
~ Treat others with respect.
~ Tell the truth as best you know it.

Dualism... is that a referance to the multitude of answers?
I'm guessing its because some people listen more to preachers and automatically believe whats said rather than studying the bible themselves. Tis' not a God of confusion, its the people of misunderstanding

Different perspectives implies different responses. Two people can be in the same situation and come out with two completely different perspectives on the situation, remember that.

Some questions are debatable, and are the reason why there are so many denominations.

My god is also very simple: eternal grudges!
