I say that Christianity is the True Religion because we only worship the Lord and we focus on the important things in the bible that some religions look over. and i believe that Mary is important but she's NOT equal to Jesus. Like the Catholics think.

No Offence to all the catholics out there thats just what i think.

1.The true religion has respect for God's word, not watering it down, using some parts and disregarding others-2 Timothy 3:16,17

    2. It is "no part of the world". It doesn't get involved in politics, nationalism or class struggles-John 17:16

    3. It has as it's members people who have "love among themselves". They do not go to war against one another. They are not divided by various religious differences-John 13:35;1 Corinthians 1:10

    Ask yourself:

    1. What religion has members who are known for their strong moral values?

    2. What religion is well known for expelling unrepentant wrongdoers?

    3. What religion has not taken up the attitude that certain sexual practices, once thought of as sinful, are now o.k.?

    4. Which religion refuses to go to war, get involved in politics, nationalism or class struggles?

    5. Which religion has members who, worldwide, do not believe that we have an immortal soul, that God and Jesus are part of a trinity, the wicked, after death, are alive being eternally tormented?

Look for the one that has all of this and you will find the true religion.

Good question, and, in principle I would agree with the majority of the answers you already have, most of them are totally bogus, but all have some basis in truth, they have all been utterly bent out of all recognisable shape by the Macchiavelian machinations of the 'priests' that have used them to serve their masters, the real holders of Earthly 'power'.

However I shall attempt to take you back to a time when maybe, just maybe, the origins of all 'religion' still had some basis in truth.

The people that arrived in various locations around the world about 6,000 years ago, came from .... well we don't really know, but they had voyaged from afar, and they arrived in Asia, as the Naaga, in the Middle East as the Annuki, in Africa as the Neteru of pre-Ancient Egypt, and in the Americas as the Vira Cocha, Kon-Tiki, or Quetzalcoatl.

These people all shared various common factors, mostly that they brought to an area of savagery and ignorance, learning and civilisation. Where cannibalism was rampant they taught people to husband livestock and grow crops. In short they were 'advanced' beings who brought great gifts to a benighted world.

In the case of the Asian group, the Naaga, they brought us the Rishis, who told the Vedas to be written down for posterity. In the case of the Annuki, again writing was established and the records were made, epic stories like that of Gilgamesh, brought a sense of perspective to an otherwise senseless world. In Egypt the origins of the Osirian Cult may well have been the closest that we have to a 'true' religion. Whilst I state this, it is in the certain knowledge that even in the Old Kingdom of Egypt over 5,000 years ago, there was little left of the true understandings.

In the American adventure we have little left, the Popul Vu, records that story, but relatively recent, of the Maya, for the rest people like Diego de Landa destroyed most of the documents that might have told us what they knew. Great work has been done in piecing together some bits and pieces of what survived the Conquistadores onslaught. The now famous 'Mayan Prophecy' of the tomb of Lord Pacal, in Palenque, has been taken up with true enthusiasm and immediately distorted to the point that most people think that the next date with the 'End of the World' is 2012. Wrong again ! Just a change of ruling Sun. Actually a great change for the better.

In fact that has been religion's apparent speciality down the ages, leading us all up the 'garden path' !

To get back to the 'Garden', the last thing we need is religion.

So I'm all out of 'convincing' right now. :-)))

The true church is Orthodox. Research it. It is the very first church after Christ. It is based on the Bible and the apostles teachings. Remember, the Bible, in its form now, was not around when the first church was formed. It is liturgical worship. Liturgical worship is how the first church was founded. Orthodox may sound old fashioned by todays moral codes but todays moral codes have strayed away from religion. If the church does not say what you want to hear then it is judged wrong. The apostolic teachings and the Bible have not changed with today moral codes so why should the Church?

Here are some things to think about...

True worshippers respect the Bible as God’s Word. They strive to live by its principles. So true religion differs from religion based on men’s ideas. (Matthew 15:7-9) True worshippers do not preach one thing and practice another.—Read John 17:17;2 Timothy 3:16, 17.

The true religion honors God’s name, Jehovah. Jesus made God’s name known. He helped people to know God and taught them to pray that God’s name be sanctified. (Matthew 6:9) Where you live, which religion promotes the use of God’s name?—Read John 17:26; Romans 10:13,

True Christians preach about God’s Kingdom. God sent Jesus to preach about the Kingdom. God’s Kingdom is the only hope for mankind. Jesus continued speaking about it until his dying day. (Luke 4:43; 8:1; 23:42, 43) He told his followers to preach about God’s Kingdom. If someone approaches you to speak about God’s Kingdom, to which religion does he likely belong?—Read Matthew 10:7;24:14.

Everyone thinks their own religion is the correct one. I am muslim and i believe islam is the correct religion, a christian sees islam as a none-true religion but i see Christianity as a none-true religion either. Read the Qu'raan and you will see. There are many proofs that Allah is the one and only god. But in the end, do whatever you want to do and believe in any god whom you think exists, its your choice and its the most important one.

You will never find a church that you are in 100% agreement with.

Get close. The bible is the key. No other book claims to have the Truth. Jesus said. I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the father but by me.

Read the gospel of John and tell God you are truly seeking him and you want to know what the right way is. That is one prayer he will answer.

Find a bible believing church and search.

As already stated I could not convince you in a forum such as this.

I say never believe a religion that worships an old book that is full of errors, but believe in nature's Creator as evidenced by His creations.

Reasonably, there can be only one living and true God, the Sovereign of the universe, the Creator. Since we owe our existence to the true God, we should render him the honor that he deserves. As Revelation 4:11 expresses it: “You are worthy, even our God, to receive the glory and the honor and the power, because you created all things, and because of your will they existed and were created.”

Jesus laid down a dependable rule for identifying what is true or false in regard to religion. He said: “By their fruits you will recognize them. . . . Every good tree produces fine fruit, but every rotten tree produces worthless fruit . . . Every tree not producing fine fruit gets cut down and thrown into the fire.” (Matthew 7:16-19) Thus, to determine the true God from false ones, and true worshipers from false ones, we need to examine what they produce. Is their fruitage “fine,” or is it “worthless”?

For example, which of the world’s religions has established genuine peace among its adherents earth wide? Surely, members of the true religion, spiritual brothers, should not be killing one another. But a hundred million people have been killed in the wars of this 20th century, and all those wars have been supported by the religions of this world. As a result, religious people have killed other religious people. Much of the time, they have killed people of their own religion. Catholics have killed Catholics, Protestants have killed Protestants, Muslims have killed Muslims, and those of other religions have followed the same course.

Who are willing to sacrifice time, material resources, even their lives, to witness for the true God? Who tell people that the true God declares: “I am Jehovah. That is my name”? (Isaiah 42:8) Who teach that “you, whose name is Jehovah, you alone are the Most High over all the earth”? (Psalm 83:18) In his time, Jesus could say to the true God: “I have made your name manifest.” (John 17:6) In our time, only Jehovah’s Witnesses can say that. How appropriate their name is—Jehovah’s Witnesses!

What is God's religion? What does God believe?

Then examine yourself and your own beliefs and superstitions labeled as belief and faith and see where they fail you.

Then use the mind that God gave you and learn to think critically and seeks truth.

Edit: I'm very inclined to agree with "rose_ovda_night" below. I studied Islam, I was born catholic but saw too much hypocrisy and idols there, it was a right-minded priest who set me straight and I left. Too bad Islam has of late been so corrupted in practice and in culture (as other religions have been) because otherwise Islam is really quite ideal in it's roots.

The one thing that's especially good in Islam is the requirement to seek proof of things, to seek truth and dispel it from here-say or myth. It's no wonder then that while Europe was wallowing in ignorance during the middle ages, science, medicine, astronomy were flourishing in the middle east! If only people could see and apply thought and sense and logic to religion!
