there are computer programs that will fogure it all for you, but for your question Guelph hit it right on. I am a genealogist and do this kind of stuff all of the time, I have a hard time figuring out how people are realited with out my computer. with out putting all the data intp a computer I think it would be third cousin once removed. In the genealogy field we would say if you know them just call them a cousin, if ypou don't know them they they are distand.

My advise give Guelph the 10 points as that is the truth.

Anybody that shares an ancestor with you is related to you. However, it loses its significance as it get further back. If you are considering dating your second cousin it probably wouldn't hurt but a person should always know if they both have ancestry with certain hereditary problems whether they are related or not. If you trace your family history, you will no doubt find direct ancestors marrying each other that were cousins of some degree. Some people find out for the first time that they are married to a distant cousin after doing family research.

    okay...here we go...

you are related to your parent

your parent is related to your grandparent

your grandparent is related to your great aunt

and your great aunt is related to her second cousin.

if there is a link like this you are related to her.

if u wanna know how shes related to you its just the opposite of what i just said.
