Alvin paddled for 5 hours with a 5-km/h current to reach a campsite. The return trip against the same current took 10 hours.

Find the speed of the boat in still water.

    Letting s be speed of boat, then (s+5)*5=(s-5)*10.

    Or, 5s+25=10s-50.

    SO, 75=5s, so s=75/5= 15.

    So, speed of boat in still water is 15-km/hr.
