firstly flea dips or baths only kill the fleas that are one the dog at that moment. they will pick them back up as soon as they get home. the frontline works with the oils on your dog's skin. if you applied it right after your dog was bathed then there weren't many oils for it to work with and it will not work properly. also if your house and yard is infested fleas will still be on your dog. they have to bite the dog in order to die. you need to treat your yard and home also. after you treat your yard and home, go to your vet and buy something called capstar. it is fairly inexpensive usually only around $3-$5 a tablet depending on your dog's size. it's a tablet you give to your dog that works by killing almost all of the fleas on your dog in 30 mins. it only works for 24-48 hours but will do a good quick kill. you may need to give your dog there every week until it's safe to buy frontline again. frontline can be applied every 30 days. once the time's up you can purchase another tube of frontline and apply it to your dog. just make sure you do not bath your dog 48 hours prior or after you apply the frontline. after treating your yard, home, dog and bedding etc......this should help solve your flea problem for 30 days at least.

Frontline should nOT be applied on the same day as any kind of bath or swimming..it should be applied at least 48 hours after.

Also it is not a repellant so you wil lstill see fleas as long as they are in the dogs enviornment, however the fleas will die as wil lthe eggs & larve.

When you have fleas no matter what product you use you not only treat your dog but the enviornment as well.

Don't use flea bombs..they are ineffective, they mainly go up in the air and come down on surfaces where fleas aren't. You need ot get a safe flea home treatment from your vet and pay attention to around baseboards, under furniture, couch & chair cushions, etc. Also wash all pet bedding in as hot water as the fabric can stand. Vaccumn your house every day, throw the bag out in an outside trash container after each use. Vacumn your vehicles as well since you can carry fleas & eggs back and forth on your clothes. Be aware that if you have a heavy infestation it can take 3-4 months before it is completely under control.

It will take some time to get through the entire life cycle of the fleas, especially if she's picking up new ones from bedding or your house (not that you have fleas - but if she had them, there are probably flea eggs in your carpet).

Vacuum the carpet - and let her into the rooms that she normally goes to - the fleas will jump on her and die.

Finally, the folks at Frontline are very helpful - just give them a call.

If your dog was infested with fleas so was your house. It will take the frontline a while to work. See if your local pet store sells a product to treat the fleas in your rugs, couches, etc. That will speed up the process of getting rid them.

Odds are you have an infestation in your house and/or yard.

To get rid of them in the house, vacuum every inch of your house, floors, furniture, and window treatments (at least 50% higher than your dog can stretch/jump up to). Empty the vacuum outside, and dispose immediately; do not keep in a trash can near your house. Wash all bedsheets and linens. I also had to give my cats a flea bath, a detailed brushing, and flea drops, and used carpet spray. I got the drops at the vet, and used Adams flea shampoo and carpet spray from the pet store (per the vet's recommendation).

To get rid of them in the yard, pesticides are your best bet. I do not know what brand they used.

My only other conclusions are flea collars do not work, rain only makes things worse, you must be absolutely thorough, and vacuum bags are not inescapable.

There are probably flea eggs still in your house that are hatching and getting on your pup, since the frontline won't kick in for a week or so.

It sounds like she is being re-infected from her environment.

She should be treated with Frontline and then bathed 2 days later - to rid her of the dirt.

You need to get your house "bombed" for fleas. Your house is likely to be infested and then your dog keeps getting them from your house.

You aren't supposed to use frontline within 48 hours of a bath, or bath 48 hours after. Do not reapply the frontline. It is critical to only give the recommended dose at the recommended time. You'll need to wait a month after the first dose to give her a second dose. Sorry...

I believe that it can take up to 2 weeks for the frontline to completely work. If you are seeing less of them than that means that it is working. Dont give up yet.

If you bought the right amount for her weight there should be no problem. You could be seeing the results of some eggs that didn't get washed off. When and if they do hatch, the will die also.
