it was replaced with the cobalt. as for the people who dog the cavalier, would you rather have some oil spewing, transmission eating honda that costs $1000 to even get a wrench near it? no thanks, I like my cavalier because it is simple and the engine and transmission are bulletproof. So go ahead changing your timing belt and water pump every 40,000 miles and paying for dealer only fluids and $300 for an alternator if you want, i'll keep humming down the road in my quarter million mile cavalier getting 30-40 mpg and knowing that if anything goes wrong with it that it won't take a months worth of paychecks to fix it.

I think it's been a few years (like since model year '04 or '05) that Cavaliers were no longer being made. Chevy now has another car, Cobalt, that appears to be pretty equivalant to the Cavalier. Why did they? About the only good thing about the car would be it's price. I had to rent one once and I definitely did not like it (and I'm a Chevy fan). However, one thing you need to keep in mind is that many different models are discontinued at one time or another, only to be brought back at a later date - good example of that would be the Camaro...and it had been done previous with the Monte Carlo and Malibu among others.

The Cavalier has been replaced and renamed. The new vehicle is Chevy's lineup that is essentially the same as what the Cavalier used to be is the Chevrolet Cobalt.

It was a piece of shitt , the same as most North American made automobiles ! The buying public has smartened up over the years and seen they`ve been ripped off good and proper on these vehicles over the years .

Why can you buy a Japanese vehicle for around the same price , or even less , and have a quality vehicle that you`ll still be driving when GM , Ford and and Chrysler products are sitting rusting in the scrap yard , sometimes even before they`re paid off ????

North American manufacturers long ago learned they can make total craap , and get away with it ......... which greatly increased their "bottom line" .

Not anymore ! People are sick of the ripoff and KNOW what`s going on !! So now , the manufacturers are trying to "bury" their garbage before the public sees how they`ve been taken !

It was just cancelled. REPLACED by the Cobalt in 2005. The cobalt is better than the cavalier x10.

Yup, I think it was replaced with the new Chevy Cobalt, or the next class up. They always do that with cars that have been around for a while.

It was last produced in 2005 and replaced by the Cobalt...among several issues, poor quality control doomed the model.

Because even gm(!) has finally realized what kind of junk this thing is, and how it damaged co's image so they moved to producing yet another piece of junk hoping that it would take special kind of people - their customers - decades to realize that they've been taken again.

    Hope it helps.
