Computer is locking up, newly built?
Hello.
I just built this computer yeasterday, and it keeps locking up randomaly, mostly when gaming/file transfers but sometimes when idle.
CPU temp around 41C-48C (105-120F) most of the time.
When it locks up, it freezes, no keyboard input works, no mouse, etc. I just have to unplug it.
Please help, since I just took apart my old computer to get parts for this one.
Thanks!
2.8ghz
2x512mb RAM
Offical Intel heatsink with heatsink compound
NO VIRUSES (I checked that already)
Award BIOS
No floppy drive, maybe that's a issue?
Ok, yes, I do have a Fan.
I have a PSU fan, a CPU fan, and a side fan, and three more fans coming tomorrow in the mail.
Thanks for the answer, Master dude.

Did you connect the 6pin pcie capability to the video card? Reset the cmos. If those 2 issues do no longer artwork then get rid of the heatsink/fan and cpu.Reapply thermal paste and reseat the cpu and heatsink/fan.Use basically a million stick of ram(in slot closest to cpu),a million video card,HDD and optical. Your memory could require greater voltage besides than the board known.maximum Asus boards boot at a million.85v and a few memory won't boot at that voltage.you may ought to purchase a low value stick of a million.8v ddr2 ram and boot to bios to alter the voltage and then close the puter down and reinstall your ocz ram and reboot.
