THE HOST (a/k/a GWOEMUL) - new creature film?

I'm looking for some feedback on this movie. I know next to nothing about it, and my partner is wondering if maybe we should grab the cheap used copy we saw the other day.

Horror fans... have you seen this one? If so, what did you think?

Update:

P.S. - I've been reading other reviews that say the creature is shown in the first 5 mins. of the movie (bad in my book) and that the movie "has a heart" (also bad in my book - I don't dig warm fuzzy horror).

    Saw it ... not a scary movie by any stretch of the imagination. Really a monster movie, instead of a horror movie. You do see the monster very early on -- the movie's more about a broken family coming together to fight the creature. Sort of feel good, I'd say, as far as monster movies go.

    If you are a true horror fan you will think it's not that good i bought it a long time ago and still haven't watched it all!
