I was wondering the same thing. I think he is deaf cause of the accident because now the writers are bringing in something new to the soap. Sign Language. I think the actors will learn and Annie already knows it. Her dad is deaf also. I do feel bad for Greenlee because Kendall, Erica, Babe, Di, Zack and Ryan and others have done worse and were not condemed as bad. The person I feel bad for is Jack and I hope he stands by his daughter.

I don't know if their going to reveal that he was deaf from birth. He very well could of been, he was premature but even if that's the truth I don't think they're going to say sorry to Greenlee

That would be a good twist. But, either way you look at it, she was taking Spike when the accident occured. Sure she was bringing him home blah blah. Kendall never should have let her take him anyway, I don't kow why they didn't all go to the hospital or take Spike with them and call Erica or someone in route to meet them there to pick him up. But I guess it would have been less interesting that way.

I think it happened from the accident. Surely they would have noticed if he had been deaf from birth, I mean, with everyone talking to him, and the different noises around him, and such as that, much like Zach noticing his "non" reaction to that tray dropping!

(But that's my opinion.)

Spike was born with his hearing intact, it wasn't until after the accident that he became deaf.

spike has not been deaf from birth, he would react to noises around him and when he did not react to the crashing noise in his room, zack noticed something was wrong.
