Sweeney Todd: The music is written by the brilliant Stephen Sondheim (arguably the best musical theater writer of all time) and the story is brilliant with a rich plot line and hysterical, however morbid, sense of humor.

Into the Woods: Also by the ingenious Sondheim, also with a great plot and sense of humor.

West Side Story: A mixture of Leonard Bernstein and Sondheim- it doesn't get better then that. This one has a wonderful plot and is heart renching.

Annie Get Your Gun: Irving Berlin is no slacker either, let me tell you. This one has a really funny script and is very entertaining.

My Fair Lady: Whether you watch Audrey Hepburn or here Julie Andrews, you still get Rex Harrison and one of the most amazing stories in all theater.

Thouroughly Modern Millie: A little known gem, there is an old movie starring Julie Andrews as Millie, and it has Carol Channing thrown in there too.

Les Miserables: Probably my second favorite, after Sweeney, an incredible story line and perhaps the most emotional music ever written.

And, if you just want to be amused, Bye Bye Birdie is a wonderful way to feel ridiculous. It's so fluffy that I love it.
