Which is the better bed? Latex, Stearns & Foster or Tempur-Pedic?

We are trying to make a decision and are uninformed on latex and Tempur-pedic beds. Please describe your experience with these if applicable, it would help a lot!

Update:

Thanks for the answers, I know it's subjective but I was hoping there would be one that stood out over the rest.

Can I get more opinions please? BTW, Sealy Posturepedic is horrible, ours is only 2 years old and it's sagging so much we actually qualify for warranty replacement (1 1/2 inches at least sag!) so beware of them.

I know they make Stearns & Foster now that is why I'm hesitant....

Update 2:

Thanks for all the info! We chose the Stearns & Foster because it's what we both liked. Hope it's better than the Posturepedic Pillowtop, it's double the price! LOL

It's a very individual decision. Go to the store and try the different mattresses. I cannot sleep on a Tempurpedic because it makes my back hurt. I need a hard bed. I love my Stearns and Foster! The salesman at the mattress store told us that he gets complaints from people who buy memory foam mattresses because they hold body heat and make them feel sweaty and because when you roll over in bed it takes time for the foam to recover and you're left lying in a hole until it does recover.

    Stearns And Foster Mattress Complaints

  • 1 decade ago

I have a Tempur-pedic bed and I'd kill anybody who would come and take it out of the house!!!! Ok, maybe not kill but seriously mame!!! LOL

I have owned many different mattresses over the last few years and the best one I found was a Tempur-pedic. Yeah, they cost more, but you get a better night sleep. It is a memory foam mattress and they have 5 different models to choose from to fix your comfort level. Sealy's Posturpedic is a good mattress, but I soon found out that they start to sag after a while too.

I've only had experience with Stearns and Foster, and we got

it in Phoenix after moving down there one year. Bar none, it

gave us the best sleep we'd ever had. And we've had other

top brands. I was told that where they are made, they make

the best innersprings and framing around, and that you can't

do any better than a "Stearns and Foster", which we'd never

heard of where we'd moved from in the NW. We were very

happy with the service we got from it. And I wish I'd been able

to get another after we'd moved back north years later. So I'd

highly recommend that brand for a conventional mattress and

box spring. The second best brand would be an Englander.

That set lasted us 15 years before it was time to toss it, and

it also was extremely comfortable and held up so well. We'd

had it until the move to Phoenix, incidentally.

Source(s): Was an extremely satisfied customer of Stearns and Foster.

Tempur-pedic ALL THE WAY! Water beds hurt after a while because you don't have a chance to relax your muscles.

Go with the Tempur Pedic memory foam, it will be the last bed you ever buy. They are more expensive, but worth it. We love ours. Now, we can't sleep when we go to a hotel or someone else's house.

Tempurpedic is the best mattress on the market, hands down. I have always had lower back problems and have not had a first thing in the morning back ache since purchasing our Tempurpedic. They are pricey, but having paid for a high dollar pillow top and hating it, the cost is not much more.
