um i downloaded openoffice... now i need to know how to preview my slideshow!?
o.k so i got it downloaded and i have my slides ready i just dunno how to preview the slideshow!

If the file is compatible then go to the Start menu and start OpenOffice Impress. Then open your slides and see what happens.
You can also double click the slide show and see if it opens in Impress.

Press F5, click Slide Show at the top, go to the Slide Show menu and click the first option. Either one will do.

right hand click on the slide show (NOT OPEN OFFICE) and click open with and a windows should pop up and select open office if it is not on the list you can add it by pressing browser and finding it even if there is a shortcut on your desktop that will do! Or open up OPEN OFFICE click open file and select your slide show if It is not there where it says File Type press the down arrow and select ALL FILES and then it should appear and select it!

either associate the file with open office presentation so that it opens in this all the time or open the presentation program click on the file menu open and scroll to where you saved the power point presentation
