Does anyone think another driver would want to drive the 8 car?

It sound like a way to instantly have fans rooting against you. I see a lot of angry Jr fans and no souvenir sales.

Update:

Ok JD i will give you Mark but Mayfield?

Sounds like John g needs a friend I suggest buying a dog they give unconditional love.

I wouldn't want it... And I'm sure that is going through all the drivers heads that are being considered for that ride... They should have found a way to work out gettin' the 8 to Hendrick.. Now that # is dead in the water

Jr fans only buy Jr souvenirs, just because Junior Nation is angry at who ever gets the 8. It's not going to affect the driver.

Any driver that is offered the job will gladly take any number the car has on it. I sure hope Jr's fans don't sink to that level. There's no reason to act like a 6 year old, it just gives Nascar a bad name.

And besides, IT'S JUST A NUMBER! He never even won a championship with it, and even if he had, it doesn't matter.

He wants the #81, and I suspect he'll get it.

I don't think many drivers would want the 8 after all the BS thats surrounded it and Theresa this year. I think a possible exception would be Mark Martin. Hes a classy guy and i dont think all that many would flame him or throw things at the car. Obviously merchandise sales wouldnt be very big. But i think everyone is gonna see a loss in sales with exception to those switching rides and sponsors.

The number 8 chevy will no longer stand for Dale Jr.

It will stand for Teresa Earnhardt and what's she's not and how unfair she is, people just don't like her. So therefore these same ppl will not like the car anymore. And it will really be bad if it stays the red Bud on top of the #8.

Yes, poor ol' #8 will have the fans rooting against it, and I'm sure it will have a few beer cans bounce off of it sooner or later.

On another note, since Jr is with HMS, they will need to get a at least 3-4 more merchandise trailers, that's gonna be a lot of HMS merchandise around the tracks!

There's an idea, maybe T could sell those trailers to HMS. But I doubt it, she likes to keep things to herself.

I can see any driver driving it, but I do agree, a lot if angry Jr fans, and little souvenir sales. If anybody gets in, I hope it is mark, maybe Truex, since he drove the 8 for Jr. those couple years.

That depends on who it is. A popular driver with experience who could win in the 8 car could be OK. For example, Mark Martin or Jeremy Mayfield. However, someone who hasn't won a race yet, with no fan following, will definitely struggle. For example, J.J. Yeley or anybody named Wallace. It's going to be interesting to watch.

I don't think too many people will be all that angry, it's not Jr.s fault that TEI kept the #8. I just hope they completely change the paint scheme, like NO red anywhere. Now it's just a number.

    Go Jr.>>>>

I say leave the driver alone. Lots of drivers would run the 8 to get a ride with DEI and I couldn't blame them.

I SAY WE ALL BOYCOTT WHATEVER SPONSOR IS ON THE 8. Theresa wants to play hardball, lets see her hit that one.

Why doesn't Jr run the 08? who has that?

    Boycott the 8 sponsor!!!!!!!

People will get over it. The number has been used before, and will be used again.
