I had a dell and i had nothing but problems with it.

Well i've got a Samsung VCR and its quite good so I imagine Samsung laptops would be equally good..i'm not so sure about Dell.

What size screen were you thinking of? How often will you be toting it around? If you are going to be toting it around allot, then I would suggest an Ultraportable... I LOVE mine. The thing with these though is there is no cd drive or disc drive (I have externals though), but that saves allot of battery power, plus I almost never use the cd or disc drives anyways.

Instead of those laptops, you should get a Toshiba Satellite M65-S9092. I have one, and I love it. I would highly recommend it.
