southwest is generally the cheapest. You should go to priceline.com or expedia.com and you will be able to give a price range, say $175 roundtrip and a variety of airlines will pop up.

Like everyone else said, it depends on where you live and where you are going more than anything else. Southwest is , in my opinion, far and away the best and most often the cheapest airline. However, there are large parts of the country that they don't fly to. i don't think they fly to Charlotte. i would also try sidestep, travelocity, and cheaptickets.com.

It really varies, one airline can be cheaper one week and another airline is cheaper the next. And it depends on the particular route too. USAirways is a cheap option for me most of the time. Actually the "low-fare" airlines are usually MORE expensive in my experience, especially JetBlue but even Southwest isn't so cheap.

Southwest is usually the cheapest but they only fly to select citys..I would suggest going to southwest.com before expedia or other discount flight sites.. southwest also has one of the highest customer satisfaction ratings!!

You should check on Yahoo Travel, or Expedia.com,,try googling it and look at all your options. I think its cheaper to go through them then to go directly through a Airplane company.
