Mail sent to wrong address?
I live on a lake and my house number is the same as someone else's on the other side of the lake. Sometimes she gets my mail and just throws it away. Is that illegal?
They are two different streets - not a N. and S. of the same street.

You should send her a letter and let her know you'd like you mail....but you might get it instead of her.
I think, technically, it is illegal. But I doubt you could have her arrested or anything. Maybe go talk to her. Tell her that ya'll can meet up once a week to exchange mis-sent mail.

Is this a North/South of the street? Maybe talk to the city government to see if this can be clarified. I think destroying mail is a Federal crime, but getting on her good side with an apple pie might be a better tactic.

How do you know she throws it away? Do you really know that she received it?
I would talk to her and let her know that she may get your mail from time to time and vice-versa, but you would appreciate it if she would kindly give it to you. You would do the same too if you get her mail.

Talk to your post office about it. Make sure they mail carrier knows that there is a problem and hopefully he will remedy the problem with out having to talk to the other lady who don't seem to nice.
