When your in the army isnt it part of your job to help with recruting when your on leave. Also is your last name Cole, i knew a person who entered the army named Daniel who looks a lot like you. Oh and garanteing things in writing doesnt always make them promises that have to be kept when in the army, suppose you are considered more qualifyed than you need to be for the job or you are needed for another job.

Danny, look at the contract. You are NOT guaranteed a job. You are guaranteed the job TRAINING.

...I'd point out the disbanding of the Royal Hong Kong Regiment, or the hundreds, possibly thousands of British soldiers and officers who lost their jobs as a result military downsizing in the 1990s. Maybe even the constitution of Panama changing to prohibit a military force. Nothing is certain.
