Can you identify this weed?
Mint family (Labiate or Lamiaceae) -- has opposite leaves and square stems.
Weed located 60 miles north of NYC
Axillary panicle of tiny white flowers.
Hairless leaves with strong serrations.
Looks like nettle but the leaf vasculature is all wrong...it has two prominent veins more or less parallel to the midrib.
Brittle stems and poorly developed root system
found it! It's called clearweed (Pilea pumila).

If you are talking about Motherwort then, i would have to say that you explained so beautyfully !!!!!
Motherwort: This representative of the mint family grows in full sun to partial shade locations and reaches 2-4 foot in height. It forms somewhat fuzzy edged pink flowers at the base of the leaves (see entry to the right). Though in the mint family, it does not really possess a mint-like odor.
