What precisely would an Indian circa 1914 mean by "hindustani."?
Would Bangladesh and Pakistan be included in this term . More specifically, the person (JC Bose) I am studying said, "Be an Indian first...Make that part of your religion. Outgrow provincialism. Try to think in terms of the vast continent of India. It is stupid to imagine that one province is better than another; it is worse than folly to think that a man of one province is naturally superior to that of another. In the New India, there will be no Panjabis, no Marhattis, no Bengalis. We are all going to be Hindustanis. Do you understand me clearly?" Would you interpret this to mean that Bose envisaged a single India with both Muslims and Hindus? Thank you.
2 AnswersHistory1 decade agoWhat can the SEC do about ill-gotten gains?
I invested heavily in a corrupt stock (misleading press releases and financial reports, unreported stock offerings). The SEC took 6 of these thieves to US District Court, and fined 4 of them a total of $100K in civil penalties...the fate of the remaining two remains to be determined. What happens now? Is there a criminal trial? The SEC "indictment" asked for the return of ill-gotten gains but the court only banned these guys for 5 years and gave them the $100k in civil fines. The company went bankrupt and was dissolved a year ago. Is there any chance that I will get some of my investment back?
2 AnswersInvesting1 decade agoCan you identify this weed?
Mint family (Labiate or Lamiaceae) -- has opposite leaves and square stems.
Weed located 60 miles north of NYC
Axillary panicle of tiny white flowers.
Hairless leaves with strong serrations.
Looks like nettle but the leaf vasculature is all wrong...it has two prominent veins more or less parallel to the midrib.
Brittle stems and poorly developed root system

I know that the outer radiation belt gathers charged particles from the solar wind but how do these charged particles affect Earth at the ground level or do they?
1 AnswerAstronomy & Space1 decade agoWhat are relativistic and non-relativistic electron flows?
I'm trying to learn about the magnetosphere. Wikipedia rather lamely defines relativistic electron flow as "streams of electrons moving at relativistic speeds." What does relativistic mean? Thanks.

If angels can travel and fly, they must expend energy. This requires that they take in energy in the form of food. Conversions of food lead to waste products and public hygiene problems. Who cleans the toilets in Heaven?

4 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoMuslim perspectives: What happened?
The Muslims once led the world in science and technology. What happened?
As soon as Islamic state had been established, the Arabs began to encourage learning of all kinds. Schools, colleges, libraries, observatories and hospitals were built throughout the whole Islamic state, and were adequately staffed and endowed. In the same time, scholars were invited to Damascus and Baghdad without distinction of nationality or creed. Greek manuscripts were acquired in large numbers and were studied, translated and provided with scholarly and illuminating commentaries. In early days at least, the Muslims were eager seekers for knowledge, and Baghdad was the intellectual center of the world.
