Any one know the Bloke that sung the song"Matchstick Men"?I think the song had something to do with a painting and it must be around twenty years since I heard it so thanks if you can help?

I remember that. I can't remember who sang it, it came out in the early or mid 70's though and was about the painter Lowry
He painted matchstick men with matchstick cats and dogs
He painted children on the corner of the street with shining clogs.
Something like that. It was a guy and a guitar and maybe some kids, but it was distincly 1974ish looking. Sorry, that's all I know.

Brian & Michael are a British music duo best known for their 1978 UK number one hit single, Matchstalk Men and Matchstalk Cats and Dogs, which kept "Baker Street" a song by Gerry Rafferty out of the Number 1 slot. Matchstalk Men and Matchstalk Cats and Dogs is a tribute to the artist L. S. Lowry, who had died two years previously.
