WW2 Vets or families?

I just got back from the Philippines, Puerto Princesa City, Palawan to be exact, and went to this place called Plaza Cuartel. There is a memorial to American Soldiers that were killed or injured in an underground tunnel.

It was very touching to see the names of Americans on this memorial.

My question is to anyone out there who knows of a soldier who served over there and would like to see apicture of the memorial or more info.

Update:

Thanks p41.....

Good advice.

I only know a few that took part in the European theater of WWII. WWII vets are some good folks to talk to and listening to their stories is awesome. Take your picture to a Veteran's Day or Memorial Day celebration and ask around to the WWII vets that attend, you might meet some with some stories about the Philippines.

I've done considerable research on WW II and interviewed dozens of veterans in the 1980s and '90s, including many from the Philippines. I never heard about this tunnel though. Sounds interesting.
