Construction trade help?
I am 19 and my dad is an electician. I want to be a carpenter and my dad supports what ever i decide. I have worked job sites with my dad since i was 10 so I am very skilled with my hands. I have wired with my dad about 100 houses. I built about 20 houses with some carpenter companies since i was 17. I am just wondering which is the better trade I honestly like them both equally. Just asking for help for pay, benefits, and even job secuirty like what do you think a union electrician or union carpenter would have more work work in Illinois that where i live

electrical.
they get paid more, and as the other poster said, they are needed in all buildings. construction is hitting a low because of the housing slump...but electricians are necessary everywhere

stay with electrical.its used in all buildings.you will not be limited to remodels and slow new construction.good luck
