The horse I ride foams around her mouth?

The horse I'm riding for a show foams around her mouth. Is it okay to wipe this away? I'm doing tack and turnout, showjumping and dressage.

Update:

It's not rabies! I know that for sure.

It's just saliva, but still, is it okay or will it take away moisture she needs or something?

she does not have rabies! a lot of horses foam at the mouth. ask your trainer to take a look and advise you if you are unsure about the situation.

That's normal when they are exercising, I used to ride and my horse would do that all the time after some riding. You can wipe it away without doing any harm to the horse or anything. Good luck in your events!!

Call vet immediately and keep horse restrained from anyone else until vet comes. Sounds like rabies.

You might be working her too hard. It's not rabies if it was she would not let you near her let alone ride her.
