I am so sorry and I feel your pain. My son did the same thing.
Perhaps she is waking up for other reasons and not really hungry but the bottle/nursing is so comforting that she's falling back to sleep again without really needing to be fed. I think I would try the water (don't want to leave the sugar from a juice sitting on her teeth at night).
If you think she is waking up because she's hungry you may just have to wait it out and feed her on this schedule for awhile. I would never leave my baby, someone elses baby, or even a puppy crying for 30 minutes. My son didn't sleep through the night for a year, and even then it was touch and go. Not everyone has an "easy" baby.
And you guys don't have to be so mean to this new mom. It's a hard job! And some babies are a whole lot more work than others. Give her a break!
I think xraydri has very good advice.

My daughter didn't sleep the night through until she was about 9 to 10 months old but I think it was around 4 to 6 months that she stopped eating through the night. Even though all children are different, if your Dr. says that your child shouldn't be eating through the night then when she wakes up rock her back to sleep or put a pacifier in her mouth to calm her down. She may just not be ready to sleep through the night and you assume she is hungry. Don't you ever wake up in the middle of the night? If you do, do you always eat?

Are you sure it's to eat or is she just condtioned to think she needs to be fed to go back to sleep. I would start by letting her fuss a little. If she starts all out crying, go to her and try to sooth her other ways then feeding. Try rocking her, or if she takes a pacifier, try giving that to her instead. Try just talking to her. You need to start now trying to uncondition her now. My stepdaughter was a bottle propped baby, and so thought she needed a bottle to go back to sleep. It took us until 1 1/2 yrs old to break her of the bottle to bed. With my son, who's breastfed, I follow a 4 hour rule, because that's how much he spaces feedings in the day, he shouldn't eat closer together at night. If it's been at least 4 hrs since his last feeding, I nurse him, but if not, he gets his pacifier or gets rocked back to sleep, plus, I let him fuss a little before I do anything, as many times he'll go back to sleep without needing anything.

you may need to let her cry a bit. It may be just a habit that she is getting up so much. When my babies were three mos, I was so exhausted that my body wouldn't allow me to get up and low and behold, they stopped crying and went back to sleep. Maybe you are being too responsive to the cries. Try letting her cry a bit and if she doesn't quiet down, go in and let her know she is ok. Give her a drink of water from a sippie cup..not a bottle, and put her back down.
Hope it helps.

You need to keep this child on a strict schedule and limit her daytime naps. Wake her at 6 a.m. and feed her. Morning nap, lunch at noon, afternoon nap, supper at 6 p.m. To bed by 8. The first 2 or 3 days may be hard, but hang in there. She will be better very soon and you will also!!

Stop feeding her when she wakes up. If she is getting a lot of calories from her food and milk then she should be fine at night. Offer her water is another one that seems to work, they soon get uninterested in waking up.

I would consult with her dr before making any changes in her diet. It is possible that she is not getting full. You might try adding a little rice cereal to her milk. Please check with her dr first before doing this. Make sure that she does not have any thing going on with her stomach to where she is not digesting food properly. Does she spit up alot after feedings. Please talk to her dr.

She is doing it out of habit not neccesity. I just let my little one cry for 30 minutes, before I went in there. Then eventually 2 feedings went to one and one went to sleeping through the night. I know it is not easy to hear them cry but it worked for me.
Good luck to you.
