Good question... I feel that America is using another country's resource and paying them peanuts for the same work if performed by Americans would cost a fortune.

Typically, one gets what one pays for.

Well, as you have answered your own question, they (India and other countries) give Americans an attitude.

I have nothing to say about crappy English because I am nobody to judge as to which accent is the right one. Just for your information, all the people from most of the countries can speak more than one language apart from English which I believe is a feather in their cap.

I would not categorize the whole continent for one bad experience I had with one person. It can happen because of my approach also. A clap does not happen with one hand. It needs two hands to make a noise. I am wondering if such a thing might have happened in your situation.

I don't get pissed, but I do get VERY frustrated. Last summer I spent a total of 16 hours in one week, on the phone dealing with my phone company due to a DSL problem. At least 14 of those hours was spent on the phone with offshore techs and that time could have been cut in half had I not been forced to ask them to repeat themselves over and over and over. The last time I called I spoke to a phone company rep and told her I absolutely had to speak to someone whose first language was English. That was the last call I had to make and we fixed the problem within 15 minutes. It was a nightmare..........

Yea that sucks and its annoying - but our economy was regimented in a way that it would force companies to hire ONLY americans then we would have companies in america that would be falling behind just like american car companies are falling behind. I hate talking to crappy english speakers as well, but if that means that we DONT lose even more money to a foreign company that capitalizes on American companies having to pay employees more - then my inconvenience is the price that is paid for a competitive, capitalistic economy that America was built on. It sucks big time - but it could be worse.

I've never gotten attitude from a service person with an accent that is clearly not American. However, I've gotten plenty of attitude from service people who clearly are American.
