i am suprized that lump under the hood lasted this long...you must take good care of it...time for a newer car...unless you like walking...or you could put a rebuilt engine and go another 148k

Well, you have anywhere from approximately 0 miles to 500,000 or more miles left in it.

Cannot tell when something is going to break. Of course, there will be some items that will need repalcing along the way, but the engine itself usually will last a very long time if maintained properly.

From what i read in your question you seem to keep good care if your car so far.

As far as how much longer your car last it depends on alot of factors. Do you drive it rough, do you do oil changes/timing belt when it is time, tune ups and the list can go on.

The engine is getting on a bit,who knows...

If it's an automatic, the transmission could let go at any time, with virtually no warning.
