Best singer in rock n' roll period! Most people don't have half a voice as good as he had. He was very brave to return to Journey

after surgery for a throat cancer and being told he would never sing again. He does not sing anymore and it has much or all to do with the tragedy. He has always been one of my favorite singers. Good to see that people all over still appreciate such a unique talent we will never hear from again from anyone else.

Steve Perry has one of the best voices in rock.

"Open Arms" is one fine example

He and the rest of Journey were a great team

i'm probably the biggest journey fan anywhere in the world . i miss him because he made journey what they are today . with steve perry as lead vocals , neal schon on lead guitar , jonathan cain on keyboards , ross valory on bass , and steve smith on drums journey was one the most underated rock bands in history . never winning a grammy or never having produced a number 1 single is unimaginable . when steve perry took over for journey as lead singer they produced 18 top 40 hits from 1978 -1986 / &1996 . before steve perry they were nobodies , and after steve perry left they've been nobodies . without steve perry journey would not of had all those hits that steve perry wanna be's steve augeri , jeff scott soto try to preform on stage . without perry the musics not even the same anymore . jonathan cain and neal schon don't play oncores at the end of songs like"i'll be alright without you " , "stone in love" , even "one more" and" who's crying now". even when gregg rolie was their keyboard player they still sounded better . steve perry by himself , the storm , bad engish , and even hardline, groups journey invented sound better now !!!

OMG, Hollywood!! 2 splendidly proficient adult men like this?? and that i gotta choose for? i like adventure, yet I rocked out to Queen, as nicely. Jeez, hun. won't be able to you provide us some much less complicated questions? those sorts of judgements are soooo hard to make!! Perry or Mercury? Mercury or Perry? i won't be able to come to a determination by way of fact they're the two superb musicians. i assume Freddie desires to be venerated right here by way of fact he's now no longer with us, yet in all probability in basic terms by way of fact Steve has fairly a lot retired from recording song. Dang it! i'm gonna pull out my whoop azzz on you, sweetie, in case you save asking questions like this!! ;) ^.^ ?

Sooo, I'm not the only one who just loves his voice! I do miss him and his singing. He could just give me chills the way he sang. Like could anyone do Faithfully better than Steve Perry? Absolutely not. Miss him, miss him, ugh!

yeah, sure do miss his voice. an extraordinary voice, one of the best, ever! journey's "evolution" album is one of the greatest albums produced. his first solo album is also great. "foolish heart' was covered by over a hundred artists here.... as you said, wish he would sing again...

Actually- Journey played with all original members except Steve- and i had very low expectations- HOWEVER the replacement sounds so close its SCARY. It was a great concert- try them out and see for yourself....

Ohforgoodnesssakes --yes, ma'am. The best voice in music history! I guess if we want to hear it --we'll have to take that sentimental "Journey"

what are some of your favorite songs? City by the bay?

Or that one- (I can't think of the name right now) but it goes:

someday, love will find you break those chains that bind you, one night will remind you....blah...blah....

I used to be a big Journey fan before he left. Journey was never the same after his departure.
