Anyone else getting the urge to leave this sinking ship, fast?

Somewhat hysterical, i know, but I don't care at the moment, I'm in a ranting mood.

Anyone else feel like getting out of tyhe uk, I mean, before we are raped/murdered/beaten to death/ knived by teenage thugs... only for those who survive to then be jailed for attempting to defend ousleves. Then of course we'd see the criminal either abscond or be set free as going to jail would '''violate his human rights".

Yes I KNOW this is over the top, but facts are facts and this hellhole is getting worse by the day.

I'm off to a nice boring country like Denmark. Anyone up for it?

Update:

old know all - take yer own advice.

Update 2:

crazy chic - you're right mate, I'm just letting off steam really. It does scare me though, the crap that goes on everyday. I have 3 very young nieces and it scares the hell out of me.

Update 3:

barbie - just so you know, it wasn't me who thumbed you down, and no I am happy to say that I do not look like my avatar! LOL!

I am afraid we too have the same problem here in the USA. Where criminals are afforded more rights than those of us who are law abiding folks, who are just trying to live.

I attribute a lot of the trouble to 50 years of liberalism. It is against the law to discipline children, and human rights for victims go right out the window when the NAACP, or ACLU get involved. Not to mention the trial lawyers association. our laws are meaningless without proper consequences.

In this state, we have the death penalty, but a person convicted of a capitol offense could be in appeals for up to 25 years. What good does that do?

In days past, if you did something to wrong, as to deserve the death penalty, it was done within just a few days of the final verdict. If that were the case now, it could be a good deterrent. Here, if a murder is committed, the person convicted gets "life". That is equal to about 25 years. Then if they are still alive, they are let loose on society again.

Is there any place to go that really offers protection for law abiding citizens? I would like to know, in case I need to get out of the USA, after socialism is the rule here. That is exactly where we are headed.

I see your point but it can be fixed.

We just need political leaders who can take a hard line on the problems of this sad country.

They should not worry about the so called human rights of criminals and yobs. They should put the rights and wellbeing of the indigenous well behaved inhabitants of this country first.

Trouble is the mainstream parties would try all underhand means to get such politicians banned.

Remember though there is hope the pendulum swings sooner or later.

I live in Greece now and I whinge a lot about missing the UK. I watched the news today and an 11 year old was shot in Liverpool and a man shot in the face in Hertfordshire. My Mum died as a result of an idiot with a gun 19 years ago, before Hungerford (they brought a so called "ban" in after that) What the hell is happening in the UK, seriously?

Greece may not have all the luxuries of the UK but being 7 months pregnant, I wouldn't want to bring my child up there now.

if it wasnt for the fact that all my family were here, then i'd be off. i'm a patriotic Scot but Britain is getting a worse place to stay by the day.

immigrants, political correctness, human rights to start with.

paedophiles getting light sentences, the criminal getting more care than the victims

wanting to charge us weekly to empty our bins. too much dictatorship and big brother policies in this country.

it's not Great any more...and don't other countries know it!!!

This is a dying country, slowly being strangled by weak and dishonest politicians, too spineless to do the right thing and get us out of Europe - or at least let us have a referendum on the subject.

I fear, though that it is too late to salvage anything from our present predicament - apart from the dregs of Eastern Europe(and further afield) coming here for the free handouts, we now have a whole generation of uneducated, idle wasters/scroungers of our own.

Any young people, not of this ilk, should definitely emigrate to a "proper" country - this one is terminally sick!!

Maybe this Government and the rest of the tossers in the House of Commons should ask the Peoples Action Party from Singapore how to run a country. After all, Singapore has a very low crime rate and the eejits here could do with some lessons.

You're letting your government control too much. It's happening slowly in the US as well, but you guys are way ahead of the curve.

When the people grow up on the teet of the gov't, this is what happens.

Then they take away your weapons to defend yourselves. There is a reason why England has one of the highest rates of home-invasions and robberies.

i think there's something wrong with every country. you're gonna find similar or different issues everywhere you turn. you just have to close your eyes to all the painful stuff that you see around you and just march on. it's not an easy task, but sometimes it's better than just abandoning all you've ever known. stay loyal to your country and try seeing what you can do to fix things in your immediate area, like neighborhood watches and stuff. attend town meetings and stuff tell your local law enforcement how much that stuff bothers you and ask what's being done about it. good luck to you, wherever you decide to be.

Lol, yes, I used to really think this was a great country to live in, and I suppose, where I live, it is, a small country village. But, watching the news has become quite scary, is it different elsewhere? Is it like a cancer, spreading all over the world? makes me wonder at times.
