Can anyone help with a reoccurring dream?

Houses always represent our inner mind.

husbands can represent one of two things:

1)the male aspects within yourself that you have committed to for your whole life. Bravery, strength, love and partnership.

2) those aspects within ourselves that we attribute to our husbands. (To me, my exhusband was inadequate. My unconscious mind then used his image as a symbol for those feelings of inadequacy in myself that i had to struggle with.)

You and your dream husband are working to improve your own unconscious.

The attic or upstairs of dream houses represent higher places of our minds. You are improving the lower aspects of yourself, but want to explore the higher aspects of yourself. Spirituality, knowledge, inner understanding. The fact that you are not allowed up there means that you may not be ready to experience this yet.

I think (not an expect only a guess) because you dream of an old house with both of you working together, that is about your relationship with your husband. How long have you been together (old house), have both of you been working on any life problems lately (my husband and I are refinishing)?

The part of you breaking to look around, to me means that you are seeking a moment to yourself. You say you are not allowed to go, do you hid a feeling that your husband is controlling or smothering you?

Finally the statement that you want climb, if you have the need for time alone, speak to your husband, let him know how you feel. Honey it seems to me that you are some how in a rut with your husband. I don't feel it's about cheating or leaving him. I love dreams...they can tell you so much. The way I Annalise this dream is: You are trying to shine, refurbish, renew something in your relationship with your husband. You want to move up or beyond your present stage but he is comfortable with the present he just feels like renewing or buffing up will do the trick.

Well, I'm guessing you see the way "up" in something in your life. When you try to go "up", you cant because "something" is holding you back. Now that "something" and whatever you're trying to go "up" on in your life, figure that out.
