My CD burner doesn't properly burn an audio CD all of sudden! No error messages, but can't play them anywhere.

This one's a real puzzler!

The drive still reads perfectly, and appears to burn CD's, but when you try to play them, they seem damaged.

What could it be? It's just started happening.

I use windows media player 11, and it's been working fine...

Update:

Thanks for your help :)

I'm thinking maybe the burner's shot, but hoping I'm wrong. Is it the same laser for burning and reading or separate ones?

That would explain why it still reads...

it might be your burner and it might not. you didn't give details as to what kind of computer you have or what operating system you have or even what kind of burner you have. i'm just going to try my best to answer your question..... it maybe the program that you were using before using media player 11. if that program was nero then maybe you should uninstall it and reinstall it. that goes for all burning programs that have the same problems. or you may need to install something called the aspi driver which could be downloaded from the nero website or just google it to find out more about it
