How can I avoid reactivating my screen name?

Maybe you guys can help me out with this. Every time I log onto AIM, I get a popup window that says "Reactivate your FREE AOL Screen Name." I believe it relates to the account I used to have with AOL, and I'm certain it's legit. However, the problem is that I have absolutely no interest in reactivating my screen name. I don't want to! But there's no button I can see to make the message go away---it just comes up every single time I load up AIM. I've tried several times to e-mail AOL about it, but, as of now, they've been ignoring my messages. Anyone know how to get the message to go away without giving in and reactivating my account?

This same thing happened to me and the only way to solve the problem was to just use or make-up a different user name and password. Also before going any changes clear out all your COOKIES, then un-install the aim program but keep your contacts. When you install it will ask you if you want to get rid of all your personal files, just say no. Then when you completely re-install the program, it will see the list of contacts an you should be ok. For your own protection, just back-up your contact list, just in case of a melfunction. Remember you must do a complete un-install and then a completely new install (all new save folders and files) for it to work.
