Plymouth was plagued with recall and quality issues.Chrysler now has a much lower recall average without plymouth.Check out http://www.mycarstats.com/auto_recalls/auto_recall... If you total the all the chrysler, dodge and jeep models it comes to 81 models and divide that into the total recalls it comes to an average of 21.6 recalls per model. If you do just plymouth the same way it comes to 37 recalls avg per model. If Chrysler was going to bring back any of the old divisions I think it would be neat if they resurected the Desoto.

I honestly don't see it. There is no marketing niche for it. Chrysler fills the luxury maket. Dodge fills the sport and value market. What segment would Plymouth fill if they brought the marque back? Before Plymouth died, it was Chrysler's value nameplate, but they were never much cheaper than Dodges and most were not as attractive.

If Chrysler did chose to bring Plymouth back, I think they should set it up like this:

Bump chrysler up to Cadillac standards in luxury. Give them something to cry about.

Make Dodge an upscale sporty brand to battle companies like Volkswagen and Subaru.

Make Plymouth a value leader to compete with Hyundai and Kia. Make the cars well-equipped and reliable and you have a winner!

I still doubt that it will happen though.

No. They Daimler/Chrysler has enough brands with what they currently produce. They removed Plymouth because of this. I don't think they would reincarnate them anytime soon.

It doesn't seem likely. Here is the link to my information, Look at the bottom of the page.

It would not be cost effective if they attempted to resurrect it.
