It's hard not to admire a guy with 11 Gold Glove awards who, at age 40, is still capable of playing excellent defense at shortstop! He's always been known for his glove but he leads all active hitters in sacrafice hits and is second among active hitters in career singles (behind Biggio).

i think of that the fulfillment is reaped via the two aspects of the bay. The Athletics have a lot of world Championship rings the place the Giants have one. The Athletics has great pitching, a sturdy farm device, besides as staggering sluggers interior the previous. The Giants have a ability checklist breaker, playoff adventure and a historic past of corridor of acceptance gamers. The followers are the winners because of the fact no metropolitan section different than massive apple has 2 communities in close proximity to a minimum of one yet another. The SF Bay section has 3 baseball communities (Oakland/Fremont, San Francisco and single A San Jose), Cal and Stanford NCAA activities, an NBA championship winning basketball team, worldwide championship winning professional section soccer, 2 great Bowl winning NFL communities, a playoff experienced hockey team and professional lacrosse.

I love Omar Visquel - he is probably my favorite GIANT right now! When my friends start talking about shortstops they almost never mention him - but I think he is great.

this guy is amazing. he is what you want in the field and taught himself how to hit. he is the all time leader in fielding percentage with .984 for shortstops, he has 11 gold gloves and is probably going to get his third straight this year, second highest number of gold gloves for a shortstop, and has turned the most double plays of any played in MLB history, that is just defense. he taught himself how to hit. he learned how to handle the bat and has the 5th most hits by a shortstop, second in the last 50 years, and he has always had speed with over 350 steals. a 3 time all star, 2 alcs won, 6 division championships, the only non american to win the hutch award. he won the willie mac award in 2006 for his spirit and leadership and he was the captain of the venezuelan team in the wbc.

I do. He was the heart and soul of the great Indians teams in the 90's and early 2000's. Without him the Indians would have gotten no where. He will have his number retired by the Indians someday and will make the HOF. He's not as good as he used to be today, but he is still a solid player.

I love Omar Vizquel because of his defense, he reminds me of the wizard Ozzie Smith.

  • GREAT fielder

Pair him with Polanco of the Tigers and you will have the best Middle Infield in the MLB (fielding wise).

I think that he is awesome. He shows that you don't have to have a big bat to be great at baseball. He'll be inducted into the Hall of Fame and is a true class-act.
