How do I keep the colour of digital printouts from fading?

I want to print and frame my colour photographs. Is there a way to make sure the colours won't fade with time?

    A few options for this;

    1) keep the out of the sun.

    2) lacquer them with either hairspray or fixative spray. Hairspray is the same stuff and far cheaper.

    3) Invest in a printer using fade proof inks, for example the epson durabrite inks.

    Cheapest option a can of hairspray, will cost about 50p and probably do everything you want to lacquer.
