Is voting for your own answers ethically wrong?
I'm sure there's an appropriate Bible verse for this situation.
Actually, the basis of this question was when somebody accused "imacatholic2" of doing that to get their "Top Answerer" recognition.
And in response to CommonSense, who wrote "I think Atheists are most guilty of this "
- can we have just one question that doesn't involve more ideological debate than necessary?

Not completely. If it's a question that asked for opinions or had lots of right answers, no problem. If it was one of the times I gave a joke of an answer or a wrong one I probably wouldn't vote for it. I'm also too lazy to go back through old questions now. There's too many of them.

Wouldn't it be the same logic as choosing the correct answer to your question. Every one choose the correct answer even if it is the most foolish of all- just because the rest are not from his own camp ? I think Atheists are most guilty of this !

I don't think voting for your own answers ethically wrong.
I do think it may be an indication that you're a little too emotionally involved in yahoo answers.

in the Bible it says that God gave people freedom of choice so if you want to vote for your own answer to a question go for it hot shot you have Gods permission.

What is wrong with voting for yourself? Of course you think your answer is the best. Isn't that why we have all the arguments here to begin with? lol

If you think it is the best answer, why should your vote not count like anyone elses?
I think that is in Deuteronomy, BTW.

No. This is a democracy. Everyone gets one vote. Don't you think Bush voted for himself when he got the chance?

Not unless you don't believe yours was the best answer.

It would be if they weren't the best answers.
