how many square does a roll of 15 pound felt cover, how many square does 23 bundles of shingles cover, on cobra ridge vent is it a hand nailed product a nail gun product or both, what type of wood is best for running across the bottom of a poll barn horizontally, and what is a sufficient amount of siding screws for 38 inch wide siding per square.

    I'm surprised you didn't get anymore answers. Both the roll and the 23 bundles of shingles would cover one very small roof. I live in a very small house and just did the front half of my roof. I forget exactly how much a bundle covers. The guy at the home center told me before I ordered. You always need a couple or several bundles extra because the edges and the roof cap use up extra shingles. Bob Vila's website has some good videos on shingling. The roll of roofing felt was pretty cheap. On all my vents I went the extra yard and used screws because it's very windy where I live. Nails can work loose over time whereas screws can not. Screws are great in porches etc... I've never built a pole barn so I wouldn't know, but it sounds like a pressure treated 2x4 would work. I think I'd use four screws across the width on 38" siding (two on the edges and two in the middle) in rows maybe every two feet apart.
