Best XBox 360 games?

Question

I just bought a XBox 360 on eBay, and while I'm waiting for it, I'm wondering what I should buy for it?  I'm definitely gettting Madden 08, XBox Live, and an extra controller.  Then I'm going to wait for another paycheck, and right now I'm thinking of Gears of War and Bioshock.  Any suggestions?

I just got BioShock over the weekend and it is a great game, i actually got carried away in this game yesterday and was 2 and 1/2 hours late for work....hmmmm All the Need for Speed games were good......The Darkness is a good one too, man they are so many out for the 360 right now

Gears of War = best game of the year. Other good ones: Call of Duty 2, Crackdown, Bioshock, and coming Sep. 15, Halo 3.

Theres the thing about Gears of War that they don't tell you.  Gears of War is really only good if you play it online.  Start to finish I was done with the game in about 3 hours.  But playing online is awesome.  Bioshock is good.  Halo 3 is coming out soon.
