Do Mormon's really believe that the Holy Land is in Kansas City?
Or that the faithful get their own private planets after death? What are the core beliefs of Mormonism/LDS?
Ignore the apostrophe in the word Mormon's. It was a typo.
I'm not making fun at all. I'm really curious to hear what everyone has to say.

We have only one "core" belief
“The fundamental principles of our religion are the testimony of the Apostles and Prophets, concerning Jesus Christ, that He died, was buried, and rose again the third day, and ascended into heaven; and all other things which pertain to our religion are only appendages to it.”
There are many "Holy Lands." I think what you are referring to is our belief that the Garden of Eden was in Missouri. We do believe that. We also believe that after the 2nd Coming Christ will reign from two places; Jerusalem and New Jerusalem (To be built in Missouri)
We believe that if we live righteously, when we die we will inherit all that the Father has.

You are terribly misinformed. Mormons share the same fundamental belief as any other Christian and most of what you have been led to believe about them is grossly exaggerated. If you are truly curious, get yourself "The Book of Mormon". Mormons believe this to be another testament of Jesus Christ and they hold it as the "Word of
God". What's more, why don't you invite some Mormon missionaries to your house to teach you what it is they truly believe? You say some pretty offensive things about Mormons.
Then again, so does everyone else. All the world believes every Mormon man to have several wives, too. This is a myth. Only the radical extremist Mormons in Colorado and Utah that you hear about on the news are polygamists. Other more ordinary Mormons share the belief that Jesus died for us on the cross, and that he is the only way to God. What's your religion, pal? How about I start making generalizations about that. Come on, give a chance to retaliate. I'll pick on Catholics and Muslim and Jews alike.
Not really, we all pick our own beliefs, and it is wrong for me to make light of or otherwise cast dispersions upon what another person believes.

Independence, Missouri, is very near Kansas City. This is where according to LDS belief (not just Mormons) Jesus will return and establish his earthly kingdom.
Planets, and the ability, as they grow in Godliness, to create worlds and universes, just as God the Father did in his own previous human and resurrection existence.
Church of Christ - Temple Lot: We believe a temple will be built in this generation, in Independence, Missouri, wherein Christ will reveal himself and endow his servants whom he chooses with power to preach the gospel in all the world to every kindred, tongue and people, that the promises of God to Israel may be fulfilled. (Mic 4:1-2; Mal 3:1-4; 3 Ne 10:4; Eth 6:8) http://www.churchofchrist-tl.org/beliefs.html #23 This group is not the Mormon church, but why does the Mormon leadership in SLC want to buy the lot and build a temple there so badly? this lays it all out (scroll down about half way for a photo of the site and who owns what): http://www.ldsces.org/inst_manuals/dc-in/dc-in-051...
this is neat: http://content.answers.com/main/content/wp/en/b/b4... (see the following link for explanation) http://www.roadsideamerica.com/sights/sightstory.p... the 'community of Christ Church' was the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of LDS, or Mormon-light, with lady priests, and so on.

please excuse me for writing this here:
i am not a mormon but i am interested in your question, because i think that there is much darkning in the media on all types of religions everywhere. i also think that students at schools should learn details about all religions and cults. this way they will have prespective and democracy when they discuss or meet with other people. unfortunately, students will become athiest because they will realize that the great number of beliefs has only succeeded in one thing which is control of humankind, on the account of justice, freedom and science.

No they don't believe that the holy land is in Kansas City. I don't think their version of heaven can be classified as planets to best of my recollection (I went to my grandma's LDS church as a child) They believe in different levels of heaven.
It would be best for you to contact one of their missionaries. There's no pressure or anything like that they are simply there to answer questions and guide people. Also you might check out the LDS website or The Book of Mormon.
NO THEY DON'T PRACTICE POLYGAMY!!!!

Mormons believe many unpublished things. You are a "gentile" or non-mormon. They prefer to be called Latter Day Saints. To get the low-down on what they do believe (including more than one God) see chapters 3&4 of the Book of Abraham. It can be found on www.LDS.org under what we believe, Scriptures, Pearl of Great Price, etc.

I've lived in Kansas City. If it's the Holy Land, I'll take Gehenna.
They have this huge silver spiral building in Independence, a KC suburb, where, according to the legends I've heard, they expect Jesus to return. If you've seen the shape of the building, it's open to conjecture how he's going to negotiate the landing.

Compared to some places in Utah, Kansas City is heaven!

I always amuse myself with missionaries by pointing to the passage in Genesis that actually names the Euphrates river running near the garden of eden. Where exactly is the euphrates in Missouri again? lol

Not exactly.
The core beliefs are too much to mention here. You can see our basic beliefs at- http://www.mormon.org/ You can even ask questions there.
