Do you think the Groomsmen wearing Ivory will take away from the Bride?
The bride's dress is also Ivory and very simple (from JCrew) and the bridesmaids are in navy.
Any other suggestions for the men, he cant make up his mind?

If the bride's dress is very simple, you could have the groomsmen rent navy suits & do ties for them as a gift. Or you could do champagne or khaki colored tuxes with regular ties.
Another option of course is traditional black tuxes.
I really think that the groomsmen in ivory will take away from the bride.

Hi. Have the groomsmen wear navy suits and white shirts. Have the groom also wear a navy suit, but with an ivory shirt to match you!

put the men in navy to match the bridesmaids! Do not let your wedding party wear ivory, especially if your dress is ivory!

Unfortunately, they will look like try-outs for the angel part in the school play or the Man From Glad reunion.
Such a light colour will look odd on men. Go for a darker colour. A medium gray would be nice with navy.

I don't think it will take away from the bride, but the groomsmen could always try navy or charcoal...I think the navy with Ivory cummerbunds would work better aesthetically.

I would suggest putting the guys in ivory pants with ivory button downs and navy tie and sport coats. I wouldnt have them in all Ivory, but the navy will break it up..

Absolutely! Only the bride should wear white on the wedding day, everyone else should be in a different color.

Not at all, they will stand out as a couple. I know a "wedding" is suppose to be more for the bride, although you wouldn't be getting married if he was not there.

The bride ought to wear basic black, so as not to conflict with the groom's tuxedo. After all, this is the most important day of the groom's life.
